His cricket side, the Hull Strikers, lined up for a match today without their teammate in remembrance of their “energetic and passionate” player.

He was a true member of the Strikers family from the start.
His enthusiasm for the game, his smile, and his attitude gave our club vitality. A real Striker at heartHis tattoo on his bicep, a symbol of pride and belonging that demonstrated how much the Strikers meant to him, was a testament to his unwavering passion for the team.

“We are all completely devastated and at a loss for words,” they continued. It doesn’t seem real that we will be sharing the ground with you again next week. “Stay strong, champ, on the other side.” You will always be a part of us. During this extremely trying time, our thoughts and condolences are with Jon, Angie, and the entire family and loved ones.
“You will never be forgotten, but you will always be missed.”
Last Monday, the team played with ten men and defeated Hessle CC by a margin of seven runs.
As the team dedicated their victory to their friend, Spence’s father Jon was present.
“Today’s win means more than just cricket,” they stated. “We took the pitch with heavy hearts, playing with 10 men after the heartbreaking loss of our teammate and brother Jamie, who was part of this very squad just days ago.”
“Being abruptly taken away from us in a terrible accident has left a void that will never be fully filled.”He was more than simply a player; he was one of the club’s biggest fans, constantly bringing enthusiasm, vigour, and a smile that uplifted everyone in his vicinity. Every run, every wicket, and every second spent on the pitch today was accompanied by that spirit.
“Seeing his dad Jon come down to support the team today was a special moment for all of us—a true reflection of the bond and family spirit this club stands for.” Words cannot express how much that meant. “This victory is for you.” Giving it your all, as you always did, is the greatest homage. You will always be a member of this team.
“A Striker Forever.”
