According to investigators, the jealous ex-husband of a budding boxing star killed him before turning the pistol on himself.
Love rival Vincent Diaz, 33, broke into his girlfriend’s Hanford, California, house on Sunday and shot and killed Adrian Valdovinos, 25.
Officers who arrived just after 4 AM safely removed his partner, but the talented athlete was discovered dead inside the home’s bathroom.
According to court documents obtained by ABC7, Diaz and his ex-wife divorced in August of last year, and she asked him for a restraining order over their child.
Police informed the source that prior to Sunday night’s fatal events, neither Valdovinos nor Diaz, a convicted felon, had ever interacted with one another.
Officers on approach heard a single gunshot, which turned out to be Diaz ending his own life, Hanford Police Lieutenant Justin Vallin told the site.
He went on to say that Diaz had arranged for someone to monitor his child and had planned the attack. The shooting is still being looked into by the police.
On Sunday, Valdovinos, left, was shot and killed inside his girlfriend’s house in Hanford, California.
According to investigators, the talented athlete was discovered dead inside the house’s bathroom, which is shown above.
On Wednesday, more than 500 family members and friends attended a candlelight memorial for the young man at Hanford’s Civic Center Park.

The pair appeared to be content prior to their breakup last year, according to neighbours, who claimed they were constantly “singing, and having a great time.”
Since then, Valdovinos’s family members have expressed their sorrow over their loss.
According to police, Diaz (seen below) had arranged for someone to watch his child and had planned the attack.
“He had such a big family, but the family went way beyond just the last names or the blood,” his father Robert said to Your Central Valley.
“There was a great deal of hurt because the family was involved in so many different aspects of the community, including boxing, family, peers, and just church.” It was undoubtedly shocking.
“We never would have imagined that Adrian, of all people, would experience this.”
“It’s hard, you know, dealing with the loss just of my little brother that didn’t deserve this,” his elder brother Robert continued.
Over 500 family members and friends attended a candlelight memorial for the young man on Wednesday in Hanford’s Civic Center Park.
Pictures of him were surrounded by boxing gloves to represent his enthusiasm for the sport, in which he had a 10-2 professional record.
