25 soldiers wounded, 7 missing in Turkey ammunition explosion

ANKARA, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) — At least 25 soldiers were injured and seven more went missing after an explosion in military base in Turkey’s southeastern Hakkari province on Friday, Turkish Defense Ministry said.

According to the initial information, the incident is an “accident” that occurred due to the explosion of ammunition during shooting exercise in a military base, the ministry said in a written statement.

The injured soldiers have been taken to the hospital, and search activities continue for the seven missing, said the military.
