Performance Lab, a supplement firm, has partnered up with the University of Leeds to do research on the greatest and most nutritious foods that individuals should consume in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle and diet. The study also discovered the best “junk foods,” proving that these less healthful foods contain nutrients as well and may be consumed even when trying to lose weight.

“Junk foods that are high in calories but low in nutrients can be consumed in limited amounts as part of a healthy diet,” says Dr. Paul Rimmer of Performance Lab.

“However, this must be complemented with a diet that is lower in refined/processed foods, high in vitamins, minerals, and other vital nutrients, has a large food volume, and keeps us feeling full from meals, healthy, and energized.”
