Weight loss: A man lost 6 stone after switching to a keto diet: ‘I still eat bacon and sausage.’
When it comes to losing weight, the KETO diet is one of the most popular options. One 26-year-old has revealed how he lost more than six stone as a result of it.
On the keto diet, you eat less carbohydrates and replace them with high-fat foods. The plan has been shown to be highly successful for weight loss as well as preventing other ailments in studies. After noticing his weight began to “balloon,” James Warren, 26, from Nottingham, decided to follow the diet regimen.
Carbohydrates are typically limited to 20 to 50 grams per day on a ketogenic diet, which excludes meals like bread and pasta.
The body enters a metabolic state known as ketosis when carbs are reduced.
When the body doesn’t have enough carbs to burn for energy, it enters ketosis.
Instead, it burns fat to produce ketones, which it can use as a source of energy.
James noted that he appreciates the diet because it allows him to eat a wide variety of things.
“I turned to eating for personal reasons, and my weight began to balloon,” he explained. When I looked in the mirror at work one day, I saw how huge I had become.
“It was having a direct affect on not only my mental but also my physical health, so I decided to start my weight loss journey.”
“The beauty of keto is that you can enjoy foods that you can’t on other diets, and I don’t miss out on many of my favorite things.
“For breakfast, I like bacon, sausage, half a tomato, and scrambled eggs on some days, and keto granola and natural yoghurt on others.”
Bacon and sausage are ketogenic foods because they are high in fat and low in carbohydrates.
Bacon also includes roughly 50% monounsaturated fats, with oleic acid accounting for a substantial portion of those, which can help reduce belly fat.
“Dinner is always interesting, and I’ve lately started playing with keto versions of favorites like milled linseed-coated chicken Kievs and my personal favorite, handmade keto pasta dough made with vital wheat gluten, oat fiber, eggs, and olive oil.”
Seafood, cheese, avocados, nuts, and berries are among the other ketogenic foods.
On the diet, dark chocolate is also permitted. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
