According to Cabinet Office Secretary Michael Gove, the third national lockdown placed in England to attempt to cope with the huge spike in Covid’s 19 cases is expected to remain in effect until at least March, with some steps lasting much longer.

Gove said he hoped that in mid-February the gradual easing of restrictions could begin, but that the time it took for the vaccinations to function meant that it would probably be at least a few more weeks before controls could be relaxed.
