THE KETOGENIC diet, sometimes known as the “keto” diet, is a high-fat, low-carb diet that claims to help with weight reduction and blood sugar regulation, but it has been revealed by Dr Joshua Wolrich as a meaningless and potentially deadly fad. Here’s why the Keto diet isn’t for you.

It’s time to stop listening to your friend who claims to have lost a stone in the first few weeks of following a carb-free diet since it’s not true. The ‘keto’ diet was first introduced to the public in the 1920s as a way to cure epilepsy.

In the 1920s, American doctor Russel Morsel Wilder established the ketogenic diet’s efficiency in producing a high level of ketones in the blood by increasing fat consumption and lowering carbs.

By adopting the keto diet, physician Mynie Gustav Peterman saw 95 percent of 37 young people with epilepsy improve seizure control and 60 percent become seizure-free in a 1925 research.

Adults, on the other hand, were the least likely to benefit from the diet, according to later studies.

The diet forces the body to use ketones as its primary energy source instead of glucose, which comes from carbohydrates, and while this had some negative side effects, they were offset by the diet’s capacity to lower the incidence of seizures.

Doesn’t this sound promising? The keto diet, according to NHS surgery expert Dr Joshua Wolrich, who you may know from his prominent Instagram account, is only useful in this case – and even then, there are more better epilepsy treatments available today.

Furthermore, the majority of today’s keto devotees aren’t really following the conventional keto diet, making their strict regimen meaningless and potentially dangerous.
