Richard Madeley’s health scare: ‘Aching, throbbing, light before my eyes,’ says the presenter.

‘Aching, throbbing, light before my eyes,’ says presenter Richard Madeley of his health scare.

RICHARD MADELEY, best known for his long career in television, has had a series of health scares throughout his life.

The presenter described how a wave of illness left him with 24-hour bouts of “aching” and “throbbing” pain in one interview.

After becoming ill in the I’m A Celebrity camp, Richard Madeley was rushed to the hospital in the early hours of the morning.

The 65-year-old reportedly only received precautionary medical care and is now “on the mend,” according to sources.

However, the host is no stranger to health scares.

Madeley said in a 2014 interview that he was worried about cancer because he had recurring bouts of aching.

The presenter, who is currently filming an episode of I’m A Celebrity at Gwrych Castle, is said to have become ill after participating in a trial.

The presenter was drenched in rotting fruit and fish guts as part of the “Kitchen Nightmares” challenge.

Madeley was given the task of locating a series of stars in a kitchen full of bugs and rodents.

The presenter was dissatisfied with his performance, as he only received four out of ten stars.

“Richard was unwell in the early hours and was immediately seen by our on-site medical team,” an ITV spokesperson said.

“As a precaution, he was taken to the hospital; our campmates’ health and well-being are our top priorities.”

“It was horrifying – campers were really upset and concerned,” a source told The Sun of the moment Madeley became ill. “All of the crew and medics rushed to set to help him.”

“It was quite a scare for everyone.”

Along with Frankie Bridge, Olympic diving champion Natty Lee, EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt, and former BBC host Louise Minchin, the presenter will appear on the ITV show.

Madeley has previously spoken about his frightening health scares, including one that resulted in pneumonia.

“I’ve been extremely fortunate in that I’ve always been in good health.”

“I’ve woken up every morning feeling exactly like I did when I was 20,” the journalist explained.

“However, last autumn, I awoke in a terrible mood.

“I was afflicted with a really unpleasant flu-like illness for about 24 hours at a time – aching, throbbing, lights in front of my eyes.”

“I realized I needed to get it checked out around Christmas time.”

They did, however, conduct some blood tests.
