People are enraged because Coca-Cola is changing its flavor.
COCA-COLA has announced that their new version of Coke Zero would have a “even more iconic Coke flavour,” but some customers are not pleased.
Coca-Cola said this week that the recipe for Coke Zero Sugar will be changed in the hopes of making the beverage taste as close to ordinary, full-sugar Coca-Cola as possible. Despite the fact that Coke did not specify what had changed, it stated that the new recipe will be “even more tasty and refreshing.”
The move will also be accompanied by a streamlined packaging design, which will be red rather than the typical black of Coke Zero.
“Recognizing that tastes and preferences are constantly evolving, we are focused on continuous improvement to give fans the best-tasting Coca-Cola they want- with zero sugar or calories- offered in the most iconic packaging and powered by some of our most creative, consumer-centric marketing yet,” said Rafael Prandini, Coca-category Cola’s lead.
Mr Prandini also stated that taste testers had given the new Coke Zero a thumbs up.

Many Coca-Cola lovers, however, are concerned that the new flavor may fall short of expectations. One user described herself as “terrified,” while another believed Coca-Cola had “gone insane.”
“I love Coke Zero because it doesn’t taste like Coca-Cola; please, for the love of God, don’t change it; I already love it!” said a third.
“You know Coca-Cola, if you want everyone to go to Pepsi, you can just say so,” a fourth added.
“If you touch Diet Coke, we’re going to have words,” another woman threatened.
What a great question! Coke Zero Sugar gives the same great Coca-Cola taste without the sugar and calories.
Many people recall the 1985 New Coke fiasco, when Coca-Cola released a sweeter version of the original drink, enraging a nation.
“Coca-Cola, why are you doing this to us?” one user said. Isn’t it enough that we’ve been through in the last 18 months? Do we really need a replay of the 1985 horror in the event of a pandemic? #StopChangingGoodThings.”
“We have continued to innovate and further refine this excellent formula and are excited to provide the latest taste to fans,” a Coke spokeswoman said in response to fans’ complaints. Give it a shot… It’s true that the new Coke Zero Sugar is THAT good.”
