Scotland’s first minister, Nicola Sturgeon, declared to the Scottish Parliament that her cabinet had agreed to implement a legal obligation to stay at home from midnight on Monday, except for important purposes.

The latest Covid “stay at home” laws, which reflect the very strict controls implemented last March, will also be legally enforced and severely limit who can travel, the cabinet of the Scottish government agreed earlier on Monday.
