A popular snack pot item sold in-store has been recalled by MORRISONS. Customers who have purchased the food item are asked to refrain from eating it.

A food recall is issued when information regarding a product is discovered that is deemed dangerous for consumers. Customers should be aware of a new Morrisons warning involving a popular snack pot item.

Morrisons is recalling their Onion Bhaji & Mango Chutney 110g product.

This is owing to the wheat component of the product, which is not stated on the label.

Wheat allergy sufferers may be put at risk if wheat is present.

On its websites, Morrisons and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) both issued statements.

Customers who have already purchased this food item should compare prices before July 6th.

“Morrisons is recalling this product with the above Use By date because it contains wheat, which is not listed in the product label’s ingredient list,” the store noted.

“Anyone with a wheat (gluten) allergy or sensitivity could be at risk from the product.

“Do not consume this food; instead, return it to your nearest merchant for a complete refund.

“It’s not necessary to have a receipt.”

The FSA said, “Sometimes there will be a flaw in a food product that implies it should not be sold.”

“After then, the product might be ‘withdrawn’ (taken off the shelves) or ‘recalled’” (when customers are asked to return the product).

“If there is a risk to consumers owing to missing or incorrect allergy labeling, or if there is any other food allergy risk, foods may be removed or recalled.”

In other supermarket news, Haribo, a well-known candy company, has announced that its supply chain is encountering “challenges.”
