In the recession news, in the southeast Queensland region, demand for a gold mine permit has increased by 40 percent in the past year.

Gympie Mayor Glen Hartwig told ABC that the interest increase was due to an increase in the global gold price that happened when all else fell in 2020.

He was saying:

I assume there is renewed interest in mining in and around Gympie, with gold at $2,500 an ounce.

If you’ve got 30 grams of mine, that’s a good day.

Not only are our own people going back a little bit more to fossil hunting, but so are the travellers who pass by and try their luck.

But Hartwig had a message for those who set out to find their luck with the fossic pan.

Many individuals may find it a little soothing, others incredibly stressful.

A number of faulty Covid 19 antibody rapid tests that have reached the Australian market have been cracked down by health authorities, removing licenses, enforcing fines and threatening to investigate a supplier selling an unapproved product.

Relatively little scrutiny was given to the vast amounts of rapid experiments that reached the Australian market in the early stages of the pandemic.

The kits promised antibody detection and delivered results without the need for laboratory testing within 15 minutes.

In most cases, manufacturers reported that their products were able to detect Covid 19 antibodies with an accuracy greater than 90%.

Now, 15 of the kits on the market have been reviewed by a Doherty Institute investigation and found that the accuracy of several tests falls well short of their claims.

An updated warning alert for residents in an area north of Lancelin, a coastal town about 140 km north of Perth, was released by Emergency Services in Western Australia.

In the early morning hours, the area protected by the emergency warning was extended to include an area west of Brand Highway, where the fire broke through containment lines.

The Fire Services and Emergency Services Department said:

Containment lines will continue to be tested in predicted very hot, dry and windy weather conditions over the next two days and the potential for rapid escalation of fire activity remains.

Ocean Farms Estate and Seaview Park, two housing projects, remain threatened.

Residents have been advised to evacuate and are now being informed that once the situation eases, they will not return home.

Incident commander Sven Anderson told AAP on Thursday that the fire was just an hour away from the settlements and could turn “quite easily” under the right conditions.

There are no reports of lost houses, but it is suspected that pine plantations, olive groves and some sheds have been destroyed.

At 9:30 this morning, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews will have an update on the corona virus. This will give him a chance before he heads to the national cabinet to make any remarks.

For Victoria, we don’t have the regular numbers yet – I’ll bring them to you as soon as they’re published.

One of Australia’s benefits of waiting for the vaccine to be adopted is that we will learn from countries like the United States and the United Kingdom, where millions of people have already been vaccinated.

Data on allergic reactions after administration of Pfizer/mRNA BioNTech’s vaccine has been released by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The vaccine instructs human cells how to generate a special protein from covid-19. The protein is harmless, but the body acknowledges that it is not there and starts mounting an immune response.

The body knows how to attack when infected with a true virus. According to the Australian government, 10 million units of the vaccine will be available beginning in February. Monitoring by the U.S. Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System between Dec. 14 and Dec. 23 showed only 21 cases of anaphylaxis – a serious allergic reaction – after 1.8 million initial doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine were administered. That’s only 11.1 cases per million doses, and within 15 minutes of vaccination, 71 percent of those reactions occurred. Out of the 21 cases of anaphylaxis, 17 occurred in people with
