The prevailing consensus on the internet is that frozen salmon can be cooked.

Frozen salmon can be cooked in the oven, on the grill, or in the microwave.

If you’re cooking salmon from frozen, however, you’ll need to set aside more time.

Before serving, make sure the salmon is completely cooked.

“Cooking frozen salmon comes down to timing and method, and if you follow the exact recipe, you will have a flawless piece of fish every time,” said Alaskan chef Erik Slater, author of the Frozen to Fork cookbook.

“The techniques are the same as when preparing fresh salmon; baking, broiling, poaching, searing the fish in a pan; the only difference is the timing.”

To ensure freshness, buy fish that has been quickly chilled and frozen once it has been caught.

Fish stored in the freezer can be used as a quick and easy dinner at a later period.

BirdsEye, known for their frozen fish, provides a helpful step-by-step guide on their website for cooking salmon from frozen in the oven.

“Preheat the oven to roughly 200°C, Fan 170°C, Gas Mark 6,” advises BirdsEye.

“Place the salmon in a baking dish or skillet and season with whichever spices you choose.

“Even something as simple as a squeeze of lemon, a little of salt, and a pinch of pepper will suffice.

“Place the dish or skillet in the oven, covered with foil.

“Bake the fish for around five minutes per ounce. If you have a 6-ounce salmon fillet, for example, bake it for around half an hour.

“Check the flakiness of the salmon fillet with a fork to see if it’s done.

“Remove it from the pan or dish and set it aside to rest!”

If you’re cooking salmon from frozen, wipe the ice glaze off the fish before cooking, according to Martha Stewart’s website.
