In just a year, a woman went from a size 20 to an 8 – here’s how she did it.
It might be difficult to find a weight-loss regimen that is both effective and simple to follow, but one woman transformed her life last year by losing six clothing sizes through exercise and surgery.
According to the House of Commons Library, 28% of individuals in England are obese, and carrying more bodyweight than is considered healthy can cause a slew of issues, ranging from joint and back pain, which can limit movement, to a loss of muscle mass, which can make a person weaker. Climbing the stairs, cleaning the house, and showering are just a few of the everyday tasks that become tough. Alex Athienitouis has struggled with all of these issues, but last summer, when Britain was hit by high heat, she experienced “blisters from her skin rubbing against itself” and said she “couldn’t even walk down the street without being in pain and having difficulties breathing.” She has gone from a size 20 to a size 8 in just over a year. So, how did she pull it off, and how does it make her feel now?
“You need to wear less clothes in the summer,” Alex explained, “and because of this, my body troubles and insecurities had never been greater, a change had to come.”
With gyms closing across the country, Alex didn’t know where to begin with fitness, and “working out in the park in front of other people, or even in the garden in the heat, was something that sent shivers down the spine,” he said.
Alex weighed all of his alternatives before deciding on a gastric sleeve treatment as the best course of action.
Alex’s stomach was removed in 85 percent of the operation, which meant she couldn’t eat as much as she could previously.
The weight dropped off, and the initial results were incredible, going from a size 22 to a size 10/12 in just a few weeks.
But being thinner didn’t always imply being fit, healthy, or happy, and Alex “felt something was lacking.”
Alex, who has two small children, would observe them playing games in the park and would be “devastated” if he didn’t join in.
She added, “The results were dramatic, and I felt smart.” “However, once the initial frenzy subsided, I realized that simply because I was.”Brinkwire Summary News”.
