Hundreds of Google employees are opposed to the company’s mandate for Covid vaccines.
In a signed manifesto, Google employees expressed their displeasure with the company’s expanded COVID-19 vaccination mandate.
The problem has posed numerous challenges for the tech giant, which will soon require its employees to report to a physical workplace.
COVID Vaccine Mandate Is Opposed by Google Employees
According to NBC News, according to President Joe Biden’s announcement, all US-based companies with 100 or more employees are required to have them fully vaccinated or at least COVID tested earlier this year.
Google had previously requested that its over 150,000 employees upload their vaccination status by December 3rd.
The search engine company went on to say that the employee should be vaccinated regardless of whether he or she will work from home or in an office.
Vaccinating their employees, according to Google VP of Security Chris Rackow, will provide them with a safer physical workspace to deal with.
This would also reduce the virus’s spread across multiple locations.
Google, according to Rackow, has been following the Biden Administration’s wishes.
Initially, he predicted Nov.
12 as the deadline for passing the decision’s requirements by the employees.
There were, however, some exceptions, such as underlying medical conditions and religious beliefs, which were decided on a case-by-case basis.
According to the report, at least 600 Google employees signed the manifesto, which calls for the company to reverse its decision on the COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

They also urged others to oppose the tech giant’s decision, claiming that they should not let the decision dictate whether or not they want to be vaccinated.
As the deadline for returning workers approaches, many workers argue that it should not be implemented in all businesses.
“Vaccination requirements, as we’ve told all of our employees and the author of this document, are one of the most important ways we can keep our workforce safe and our services running.”
A Google spokesperson said, “We firmly stand behind our vaccination policy.”
Vaccinations are required for Google employees returning to the office, according to the company’s CEO.
According to CNBC, Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated in July that he would require all employees to get vaccinated, particularly those who will be returning to the physical workplace soon.
Pichai announced a few months later that more employees were gradually returning to work.
He stated in October that he would still allow workers to do so.
