First Christmas baby at the Royal Alexandra Hospital to be delivered


For a Renfrewshire couple who welcomed Scotland’s first Christmas baby just minutes after midnight, Christmas morning brought a very special birth.

Little girl Aurelia was born at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley four minutes after midnight. Agata and Artur Musialak’s parents, aged 36 and 39, were overjoyed.

Aurelia, the third daughter of the Paisley couple, was born on January 2, before her due date, after Mrs. Musialak was admitted to the hospital on Christmas Eve.

Shortly after, at 12:27 a.m., in Ayrshire, Danielle Sievewright and Billy McClung of Kilmarnock welcomed their son. At the Maternity Unit in Ayrshire.

The second Christmas arrival in Scotland is believed to be John James McClung, who was born weighing 7lb 4oz, and will be a baby brother to nine-year-old Myley, seven-year-old Madeline and five-year-old Daisy.

In Edinburgh, shortly after 4am with the birth of their son, Kim and Donald Dallas received their own personal bundle of Christmas joy. At 4.10am at NHS Lothian Birth Center, the baby boy, who has yet to be named, was born and weighed 9lb 2oz.

The workers at Forth Valley Hospital in Larbert delivered a baby girl to Karlijn Kuipers and her husband, Alasdair Fowlie, at exactly the same time. The couple are also settling on a name for their daughter as well.
