Coronavirus Scotland: 967 new cases are shown by daily figures

In Scotland, almost 1000 individuals have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

Regular figures published by the Scottish Government revealed that 967 positive infections were found in total.

A total of 8819 new tests recorded results for Covid-19, of which 12.2 percent were positive.

The rate of positivity is marginally lower than the figure of 12.3% yesterday .

This is how the area’s numbers have improved over the past nine months.

Regular reports are impacted by the holidays, as only details on the number of new Covid-19 cases and the test positivity rate are published by the authorities.

As a consequence, there has not been an update on the number of recent deaths.

On Tuesday, Dec. 29, the new daily data for deaths and hospital admissions will be released, which will include data for both that day and the previous four days.

A statement on the website of the Scottish Government reads, “Daily updates over the holiday period will be published to provide the latest data on the number of new COVID-19 cases and the test positivity rate.”

Over the holiday weekends of December 25-28 and January 1-4, there will be no changes to the remaining statistics – you can access the latest available data in the sections below.’

“These will be updated on Tuesday, December 29 and Tuesday, January 5 – we will provide the latest daily data for that day and the previous 4 days.”
