Coronavirus Scotland: 740 new cases of Covid within 24 hours


In the last 24 hours, 740 new Covid-19 cases have been registered in Scotland.

6,793 new Covid-19 tests recorded findings, 12.3 percent of which were positive.

Over the holidays, the number of deaths, hospitalizations, or ICU cases will not be released. For the final four days, an update is scheduled on Dec. 29.

Yesterday, 1,148 new cases were registered by the Scottish government, with 43 new deaths reported, as much of the country remains subject to the strictest coronavirus restrictions.

The switch to Level 4 suggests that non-essential firms have been forced to close, while bars, cafes and restaurants are only permitted to sell take-away services.

In the week ending December 24, a total of 50,584 individuals were freshly screened, with 7,574 testing positive for the first time.

Coronavirus was detected in 1 in 140 people in Scotland.
