DAVID BADDIEL has expressed his passion for automobiles, with recent data revealing that 60% of drivers admit to being emotionally attached to their favorite vehicle.
In a series of short stories titled The Adventures of Pre-Loved Cars, writer and comedian David Baddiel talks about seven real-life memories of pre-loved cars. Short stories about unexpected racing and royal ties, falling in love, and wonderful road journeys are included in this collection of short stories.
This comes after a recent survey revealed that more than a third of Britons regard their car as a family member or friend.
Younger generations (18 to 24-year-olds) are more loyal to their wheels than to their parents (35 percent) or grandparents, according to Your Red Car, a new online marketplace sponsored by Santander (33 percent).
Four out of ten people name their car to show their affection, with popular selections including Bertie, Fred, and Bessie.
Other owners give their automobiles more colorful names, such as “Ebenezer,” “Passion Wagon,” and “The Beast,” according to poll respondents.
A third of Britons refer to their cars as’she/her,’ while 19% use the pronouns ‘he/him.’
David Baddiel discussed the findings as well as his own passion for automobiles.

Drivers go beyond merely names, with 36% expressing their passion by purchasing car accessories.
