What are the most desired employee benefits in the United Kingdom? Are you missing out on something?
WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMONLY PROVIDED EMPLOYEE BENEFITS AND HOW DO THEY COMPARE TO THE NEEDS OF THE UK WORKFORCE?
To find out, Moneypenny analyzed 1000 job ads on Indeed.com and polled 1,000 UK office workers, showing the most often given benefits and how they compare to employee expectations.
Unsurprisingly, the number one perk listed across all Indeed job advertisements examined was a pension.
A pension is one of the advantages stated by 41% of firms as one of the benefits a potential employee might expect if their application is successful.
Working from home was next, with only 22% of job advertisements offering this benefit, despite the fact that it proved to be a feasible alternative for many workers during the pandemic.
According to Indeed’s analysis, the top five most offered benefits were as follows:
41% of people have a pension.
Working from home accounts for 22% of all jobs.
12% in the gym
Working from home accounted for 11% of the total.
Sick pay is worth 11% of your salary.
The survey looked more closely at these listings to determine if they reflect how the UK feels about job perks.
The top three perks – pension, sick pay, and flexible working hours – were also chosen as the top three benefits that UK workers believe should be standard for employment.

The report also highlighted which advantages UK employees had previously implemented in their employers.
This included a pension (49%), sick pay (44%), and on-site parking (44%). (31 percent).
There were also some unusual perks, such as four percent of respondents having unlimited paid vacation time and five percent having dog-friendly workplaces.
Workers in East Anglia, the East Midlands, London, the North West, Northern Ireland, and Wales consider a pension to be an essential perk, according to Moneypenny’s analysis of the survey’s results by region.
In the North East, Scotland, the South East, South West, West Midlands, and Yorkshire and the Humber, however, ill pay was the most popular option.
