Premium Bonds: With Bonds less than six months old, two winners won £100,000 each.

Two winners of the JANUARY 2022 Premium Bond prize draw received £100,000 after purchasing bonds in late 2021.

Two people became millionaires after the draw earlier this week, and another six people received £100,000 for their savings.

Two of the winning bonds were purchased in September and October of that year.

The first winner received their prize after purchasing a £1,250 winning bond in September 2021.

When the announcement was made, the Northamptonshire resident had £20,100 in bonds.

The second, with a total of £45,500 in Premium Bonds, purchased their much larger £40,000 worth of bonds in October 2021.

With a £100,000 payout announced earlier this week, both winners have more than doubled their investment.

During the January prize draw, two more Premium Bonds millionaires were revealed.

A Lancashire resident and a Hertfordshire resident shared the £1 million jackpot.

The Lancashire winner had a total investment of £30,000, with their winning bond number of £5,000 being the winning number.

The bond was purchased in May 2007 over a decade ago, but the new millionaire’s perseverance has finally paid off.

The lucky bond contained £12,000, and the Hertfordshire resident had a total of £50,000 in Premium Bonds, which was the limit.

“A huge congratulations to our Premium Bonds jackpot winners in Hertfordshire and Lancashire,” said Jill Waters, NSandamp;I Retail Director.

“It’s a fantastic start to the year, and we wish them every success in 2022 and beyond.”

Premium Bonds are sold by NSandamp;I, a government-backed savings institution. It has been asked whether the date a bond is purchased affects its chances of winning.

This question arose after a few high-value winners were drawn after only a year of owning their winning bond.

They claim that every £1 Bond number has the same chance of winning a prize of any amount.

Because ERNIE, the algorithm that generates the monthly winning Bond numbers, does not save numbers, Bonds cannot be left out regardless of when or where they were purchased.

Premium Bond holders can use the checker app or the NSandamp;I website to see if they are part of this month’s winning numbers.

Customers should bring their NSandamp;I number and Bond number with them because they will be required.
