‘It’s a dream job.’ An entrepreneur discusses working with ‘world-famous’ clients.
Many people are intrigued by the side hustle trend, which allows them to make their money work for them or turn their interests into cash.
While some people struck gold on their first try, others went to a variety of industries and business ventures to pass the time at home.
During lockdown, Anita Lo, a senior account manager for B2B technology companies, discovered a fresh application for her language and fashion skills and started two distinct side enterprises.
Ms Lo explained, “I studied French and Russian at University College London and grew up in a bilingual home.”
“I decided to start my own tutoring business and advertise the languages I know, which include English, French, Spanish, Russian, Cantonese, and Mandarin.”
Ms Lo also launched Clara’s Box, an international apparel and antiques virtual boutique, in May 2020.
“I used to tutor languages in person in London, but owing to the epidemic, it turned virtual, and it made me realize that now would be an excellent moment to start an internet business.
“I’ve always been interested in fashion and antiques, collecting and seeking for discounts and unusual stuff since I was a child, so running a business in this field has long been a dream job for me.”
Ms Lo was able to move into her own Cheshire apartment in July 2020 as a result of the popularity of Clara’s Box.
“It’s reassuring to know that, in addition to local clients, Clara’s Box has international supporters from as far away as France and as close as Nairobi.
Fashion designers, TV/film costume businesses, and world-famous clients are among them.
“My purchasers say I have a good eye for uncommon, one-of-a-kind goods that are in demand.”
Ms Lo has an intense and concentrated work schedule in order to focus on each of her side hustles in addition to her day job, and she has made it apparent that running a one-woman army is not as easy as it appears on social media.
“Tutoring takes place after 6 p.m. and on weekends. Clara’s Box is open before 9 a.m., after 9 p.m., and on weekends.
“It’s actually extremely exhausting to work a 9-to-5 job during the week, tutor for a few hours each week in the evenings or on weekends, and fit in time for my e-commerce company.
“Because Clara’s Box’s garments are secondhand, I wash, fix, and.”Brinkwire Summary News”.
