Burges Salmon appoints Nigel Watson, former partner of the Brodies, to head its Edinburgh office and targets development


In order to lead the employee incentives team, law firm Burges Salmon has named former Brodies partner Nigel Watson to its Edinburgh office.

Following its launch in Edinburgh in May 2019, Burges Salmon said Mr Watson’s appointment as corporate partner “demonstrates the firm’s ongoing commitment to building on its growing reputation in Scotland and providing exceptional client service across the UK”

Prior to joining Burges Salmon, Mr. Watson worked in Brodies’ Edinburgh office, where he developed and led the practice of employee benefits.

Burges Salmon said he advises companies and owner-managed firms on employment benefits, tax-effective compensation systems, and the design and implementation of compensation.

The firm added that Mr. Watson “has extensive experience in all aspects of equity incentive plan design, implementation and execution, both domestically and internationally, as well as advising compensation committees on management incentive issues.”
