Following a two-year placement, Scottish law firm Thorntons has welcomed eight newly trained lawyers to four of its offices.
“Among the new recruits is Lindsey Cross, who joins the commercial real estate and insolvency team at the Glasgow office of Thorntons and says, “As a full-service company, during my placement, I had the opportunity to work through a range of practice areas.
This has been invaluable in the growth of diverse legal expertise and client experience. It was difficult to train and qualify during a global pandemic, but Thorntons has always concentrated on doing the right thing for its workers, clients and communities, and as a trainee lawyer, I felt completely supported.
Staff efficiency to draw businesses to Scotland
Two newly trained lawyers, Maria Gravelle in employment and immigration and Scott Douglas in corporate and intellectual property, will also welcome Thorntons’ Edinburgh office. There will be three new hires in Dundee – Angela Robertson in dispute resolution and damages, Jillian McLaughlan in employment law and Alex Hirst Dawson in residential property, and Chloe Anderson will join the private property
“Colin Graham, Chairman of Thorntons, said, “Our goal is to be one of Scotland’s most forward-thinking law firms and we understand that our trainees are vital to the future success of Thorntons. It is wonderful to welcome eight of our trainees into permanent positions at the firm, who are all newly trained lawyers.
“Our aim is to give our trainees a strong early foundation for their careers with practical experience, hands-on work and direct client contact. I want to thank the entire senior team at the firm for nurturing these eight individuals. It’s great to see the range of specialisms they have chosen and I wish them all the best in their careers at Thorntons.”
