Xbox fans get a first look at the Unreal Engine 5 graphics for the Series X and S consoles.
Next week, Xbox gamers will get a closer look at Unreal Engine 5 on the Xbox Series X and S. In the lead-up to the announcement, a teaser image of UE5 operating on Xbox was released.
The Coalition, the creators of Gears of War, will showcase an Xbox Series X and S tech demo built with Unreal Engine 5 next week. The UE5 demo, codenamed “Alpha Point,” will be shown at GDC 2021, which begins on July 19. At GDC, the Alpha Point tech demo will be available on the Xbox Series X.
During the event, developers from The Coalition will explain the performance of UE5 on the Series X and S.
The Coalition will give an hour-long presentation on Tuesday, July 20 at 1.20 p.m. pacific time.
It’s 4.20 p.m. eastern time and 9.20 p.m. BST for those in other time zones.
A teaser screenshot from the Alpha Point demo has been revealed in the run-up to The Coalition’s GDC presentation, according to Wccftech.
It looks to take place in the same sandy, cave-like setting as the Unreal Engine 5 unveiling demo.
The Coalition stated that attendees at the GDC 2021 event will learn more about upcoming Unreal Engine 5 visual technologies such as Nanite, Lumen, Megascans, and MetaHumans, in addition to seeing the Alpha Point demo.
“The Coalition will present a UE5 Technical Demo ‘Alpha Point’ for Xbox Series X, intended to internally evaluate UE5,” The Coalition announced of the impending demo.
“The session will go over the lessons learned by the team while developing Nanite-resolution assets and integrating them into a completely real-time lighting scenario using Lumen and Virtual Shadow Maps.
“For Xbox Series X and S, performance and memory observations, as well as VFX, Blueprint, material setup, Temporal Super Resolution, and Virtual Texture results, will be discussed.
“The Coalition will also demonstrate a next-generation character test running on Xbox Series X, as well as some preliminary findings on next-gen character development and MetaHumans integration.”
