‘Wouldn’t have chosen it,’ Amanda Owen, star of our Yorkshire Farm, says candidly about her career.

Amanda Owen, the star of OUR YORKSHIRE FARM, has spoken openly about her time as a shepherdess on Ravenseat Farm.

Since 2018, Our Yorkshire Farm has given Channel 5 viewers an insight into Amanda Owen’s and her family’s lives.

Amanda, also known as The Yorkshire Shepherdess, and her husband Clive live on Ravenseat Farm in the hit show.

On Twitter, the 47-year-old has a sizable social media following and frequently updates her followers on her nine children, 2,000-acre farm, and 1,000 sheep.

Amanda, on the other hand, revealed in a recent interview why she would not have chosen to be a shepherd.

Amanda looks after a variety of cows, sheepdogs, and ponies in addition to her ever-growing flock of sheep.

If her children and farm work aren’t enough to keep her occupied, the Channel 5 star also writes, having published four best-selling books in the last few years.

Although Amanda has made a good living as a shepherdess, she admitted in a recent interview that if things were different, she would not have chosen that career path.

“Absolutely never,” Amanda said when asked if she ever imagined herself as a shepherdess.

“To put it another way, if I was the life and soul of the party and loved being in the company of a large group of people, I wouldn’t have chosen to be a shepherd.”

“It’s a complete 180-degree turn.”

“However, everything you said – “famous” and everything else that makes me cringe – is about farm diversification.

On a variety of levels, the sheep provide a living for me.”

Amanda was asked about the success of Our Yorkshire Farm and her books in an interview with The Guardian.

“I can’t say there was ever a moment when I thought, ‘Right, this is how we’re going to get Ravenseat to make money,'” she replied.

“It all started with making tea cups.”

It’s a simple thing.
