With a heartwarming Disney-esque commercial, Chick-fil-A hoodwinks Macy’s Parade viewers.

When a cute Disney-styled animated holiday commercial turned out to be a Chick-fil-a commercial, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade spectators were caught off guard. An cute 2-minute-long short video named Stories of Evergreen Hills played as the dozens of balloons and floats made their way down West 77th Street and Central Park West to Macy’s flagship store in Herald Square Thursday morning.

Following Sam, the main character of Chick-fil-2019 A’s and 2020 holiday short films, and her companion CeCe on a fantastical trip at The Whoopsery after she inadvertently destroys a Christmas ornament, the advertisement has sparked a lot of buzz on social media. Every kitchen mishap is turned into an exceptional delight at The Whoopsery. Ashley Callahan, senior director of integrated creative at Chick-fil-A, Inc., said in a press release, “We want to encourage people to see all of life’s messy, unworthy of social media moments as opportunities to embrace them all and not miss out on the wonderful moments we have with the people we care about. We hope that this year’s film will inspire more people to discover joy when things don’t go as planned, and to turn ‘whoops into fantastic,’ to borrow a phrase from our new favorite baker.” The short film Stories of Evergreen Hills made its on-air debut during the Macy’s Parade before going on to air in movie theaters through Christmas Eve. Many people were taken aback by the cute commercial, as they were not expecting it to be from Chick-fil-A. Continue reading to see what others had to say.
