As a result, fans are scouring the book for any hints as to what might happen in the upcoming season of the Starz drama. And it appears that Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) may be returning to the twentieth century in the upcoming season.

With the tale finally reaching the sixth book, A Breath of Snow and Ashes, the season will once again be inspired by Diana Gabaldon’s novels.
It didn’t take long for fans to go back through the book to piece out what would happen, with Brianna and Roger potentially facing a huge narrative twist.
The two attempted to travel back to the twentieth century at the end of season five, but only made it to Fraser’s Ridge.
If Season 6 stays true to the novels, as past seasons have, Brianna and Roger may have a better chance of succeeding in the coming season.
However, their decision to return home in season five was entirely made up for the show, implying that anything could happen in the future.
However, their daughter Amanda is born with a heart problem in A Breath of Snow and Ashes.
As a result, they resolve to travel back in time to give her the operation she requires to save her life.
The family is residing at Lallybroch in the twentieth century in the seventh novel, An Echo in the Bone, and keeps in touch with Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) through letters Claire wrote to her husband.
Roger can be seen carrying a baby in one of the official season six photographs, which appears to hint towards the Amanda narrative.
