While investigating the Pittsburgh Brewery, the ‘Ghost Hunters’ team reveals ‘intense’ discussions about TAPS’ return (exclusive).

The Ghost Hunters are back, and they’re just as committed to uncovering the truth as they were before.

For the first time in over a decade, original TAPS members Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, and Dave Tango, along with Shari DeBenedetti, have reunited for the revival currently airing on Discovery(plus), but it wasn’t an easy reunion.

In January, I was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, looking into a church-turned-brewery for the Jan.

The TAPS team sat down with PopCulture.com to discuss their legacy as paranormal trailblazers and what’s next for the team this season in episode 15, “The Haunted Brewery.”

When the opportunity for TAPS to reunite under the Ghost Hunters banner arose, Gonsalves admitted that the group had “some pretty intense conversations” about whether or not to accept the offer, while Hawes explained that it was because they needed to make sure it was the best decision for everyone.

“I mean, it’s not worth it if it’s only going to benefit one person over the others.”

“It had to be a decision that we could all make as a group,” he explained.

Tango admitted he was “getting chills” as he climbed into the TAPS van and began sorting through the gear for the day’s investigation at Church Brew Works.

There have been numerous paranormal investigation shows over the years, but according to the TAPS team, none of them compare to Ghost Hunters.

“I think it’s because we were always honest,” Hawes explained.

“I mean, there are so many shows out there now… and some of the shows that have come and gone have seemed to really try to push it to this next level, and you always have to wonder why.”

Is this something they’re attempting, faking evidence or whatever, in the hopes of new seasons? You have to question their credibility.”

There are plenty of other “great” shows, too, as the TAPS founder pointed out, noting that more people investigating in their own unique way only serves to advance the field.

The TAPS team agreed that one thing that has always set Ghost Hunters apart is the team’s willingness to disprove paranormal activity.
