Where is Mike Meginness from ‘My 600-lb Life’ Season 10 now?

Each episode of the TLC docuseries My 600-lb Life follows a person who wants to reduce a lot of weight and frequently seeks medical help from Houston surgeon Dr. Younan Nowzaradan.

Mike Meginness’ weight loss struggle will be chronicled on the Nov. 24 show. Mike lost his sense of purpose after repeated concussions terminated his college football career early, and he gained hundreds of pounds.

Mike’s problems lost him both his wife and his job. The 37-year-old was living with his parents and weighing over 700 pounds when the cameras started rolling.

Now, the divorced father of four is hopeful that Dr. Now can help him reclaim his life so that he can be present for his children and move on from his parents’ basement.

Mike was living in the basement of his parents’ home in Marion, Ohio, at the start of his weight loss quest. He admitted that he had struggled with his weight his entire life, but that it was not a problem that his other four siblings experienced.

Mike’s football dreams were ruined when he got two concussions back-to-back, despite his enormous height (he’s 6’5″) and weight.

The NCAA ruled him medically ineligible, and he was forced to withdraw out of school after losing his football scholarship.

Mike continued to gain weight despite being married soon after and having four children with his wife. His wife warned him that if he didn’t lose weight, she’d file for divorce. He was admitted to an in-patient treatment center and diagnosed with depression and binge-eating disorder. He did lose weight while in treatment, but it was quickly regained after he was released.

Mike revealed that his wife asked for a divorce in front of their children two years later, and that he only gained even more weight as a result.

Mike weighed in at 745 pounds for his first weigh-in at Dr. Now’s Houston location. The surgeon informed him that he weighed roughly 500 pounds too much and that he needed to get serious and relocate to Houston.

Mike was unable to relocate due to his ex-custody wife’s agreement. Brinkwire in a nutshell.
