When a partially-sighted player inquired about Del Boy’s coat, it was dubbed “taking the p***.”

The Chase backlash when a partially-sighted player inquired about Del Boy’s coat.

THE CHASE viewers were outraged after a partially-sighted contestant was asked a question about a character’s appearance in Only Fools and Horses on Thursday’s episode of the ITV quiz show.

Annah, a legal adviser, had already told The Chase host Bradley Walsh about her poor vision, but during her cash-builder round on the ITV show, she was asked who in the popular comedy Only Fools and Horses was frequently “seen” in a sheepskin coat.

Fans of the show were enraged by the brainteaser’s wording, which they called “unfair.”

Bradley addressed Annah’s vision problems before the cash-builder round.

“I’m aware that you have a visual impairment,” he explained.

“Yes, that’s correct,” the Magistrates’ Court employee said.

“Has that helped you in the legal game? And what I mean is are you paying more attention?” the presenter inquired.

The Nottingham-based contestant responded, “You know what, you’re actually right.”

“Because I’m not easily distracted by visual cues – you’re absolutely correct.”

Annah, who required assistance getting to and from her seat during the show, was asked a question that required the ability to see clearly just a few questions into her solo round.

“Which Only Fools and Horses character was frequently seen wearing a sheepskin coat?” Bradley wondered.

Bradley informed her that the correct answer was Del Boy after she answered “Boycie.”

Many viewers condemned the show for asking the question to the visually impaired contestant on Twitter.

“The chase just asked Annah, who is blind, which character from Only Fools and Horses is frequently’seen’ in a sheepskin coat (hashtag)TheChase,” Sam Bennett wrote on Twitter.

“I’m sorry, but asking that sheepskin coat question to someone who’s visually impaired…,” Steve Lowe said.

“‘Which Only Fools and Horses character is frequently seen wearing a sheepskin coat?’ F*** off ITV asking that to a BLIND contestant! (hashtag)TheChase,” TRIPLE 6 tweeted.

“Are they taking the p*** with that coat question? She’s blind (hashtag)TheChase,” Sara wondered.

Rachel Mayhew shared, “As if you’ve just asked a partially sighted lady who was often seen wearing a sheepskin coat (hashtag)TheChase.”

It should be noted, however, that all questions on The Chase are chosen at random, and the ITV quiz show has been criticized in the past for similar reasons.

Despite the difficult question, Annah was able to earn £7,000 in her cash-builder round.

Chaser Mark later made her an offer.
