What’s the deal with Escape to the Chateau not airing in France?

ESCAPE TO THE CHATEAU has become a worldwide hit, but why is the Channel 4 show not broadcasting in France?

As Dick Strawbridge and his wife Angel Adoree continue to repair their home in the French countryside, Escape to the Chateau follows their life. The Chateau de la Motte-Husson, located in the Martigne-sur-Mayenne area of France, was built in the nineteenth century. Despite aired since 2015, the Channel 4 show and its several spin-offs do not air in France. What is the reason for this?

Although the episodes are only available in the United Kingdom, they are also available in other countries across the world, including the United States.

In reality, the episodes are shown in 40 countries, as enthusiasts throughout the world learn how to give their homes a new lease on life.

Unfortunately, France is not one of these regions, and this demand was made to the broadcasting organizations by the couple.

Dick and Angel said they don’t want to be labeled as a “famous couple” in their adopted country.

As a result, they refuse to have their shows broadcast on French networks because they wish to keep their lives as private as possible.

“We are quite normal, and that is the trick; people can see themselves in us,” Dick told The Telegraph.

The father of four went on to say that the residents of Martigne-sur-Mayenne are aware of the couple’s activities and are aware that they are well-known in other nations.

They, on the other hand, don’t perceive the celebrity draw and don’t think the home renovators are famous in France, which is exactly what Angel and her husband desire.

According to Dick, the couple does not consider themselves celebrities: “We are absolutely not a celebrity couple in our world.” If I acted like a b****y moron, my mother would clip my ear.”

We are very ordinary people.
