On July 29, 1981, millions of people across the world watched as Prince Charles and Princess Diana exchanged vows in a magnificent ceremony.

Diana, however, had reservations about marrying the Prince of Wales before to the “Wedding of the Century,” and sought advise from her sisters, Lady Sarah and Lady Jane.

Here’s what Diana’s two older siblings told her when she tried to back out of the wedding, as well as what Sarah, who was in a relationship with Charles first, had to say about her sister dating the future king after she did.
