What led to Davina Potratz’s departure from The Oppenheim Group?

DAVINA POTRATZ shocked fans when she abruptly left The Oppenheim Group, but why did the actress make the decision?

Since the first season of Selling Sunset, Davina Potratz has been one of the show’s main stars, proving to be one of The Oppenheim Group’s best sellers.

In Netflix’s fourth season, however, things are different, as Potratz is reintroduced as a competitor to the company.

Fans were taken aback by her decision, and many are left wondering why she switched sides.

While the Oppenheim Group’s employees are clearly close, it is a business like any other.

Friendships can be shattered when commission-only pay is the norm, as the fight for the sale takes precedence over everything else.

Despite the fact that the cast and crew clearly enjoy their jobs, Potratz surprised everyone by announcing her departure after the third season premiere.

Potratz was working for a rival brokerage agency at the start of the newly released season four, but she is still a major character in the show.

Fans assumed Potratz’s departure from the series was due to her inability to sell the infamous (dollar)75 million (£56 million) estate, but this isn’t the case.

In fact, it appears to be a friendly parting, as the star explained to People in October 2020.

“I’m really excited to be a part of Douglas Elliman’s very sophisticated and global new development division,” Potratz said.

“Because I have a background in new development sales and marketing, this is a fantastic opportunity for me.”

It’s just perfectly in sync with my abilities.”

Oppenheim’s main competitor, Douglas Elliman, has offices across the United States and internationally.

Potratz explained how her time with the rival company had come to an end in season four, and she persuaded Oppenheim to reinstate her in the agency.

All of the main agents, including Chrishell Stause, Christine Quinn, Heather Rae Young, Mary Fitzgerald, Maya Vander, and their bosses, Jason and Brett Oppenheim, will be joining Potratz in season four.

Potratz isn’t the only member of the team who has left before season four begins; Brett Oppenheim has also left.

Viewers assumed there had to be a major rift between him and Jason for him to leave.
