What is the reason for Abby Lee Miller’s wheelchair usage?
ABBY Lee Miller rose to stardom over a decade ago as the demanding choreographer on the show Dance Moms.
However, the dance coach has been confined to a wheelchair, leaving some followers perplexed.
Abby is confined to a wheelchair as a result of her cancer struggle in 2018, which rendered her paraplegic.
Shortly after leaving prison, she was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphom while residing in a halfway home.
The Lymphoma Research Foundation claims that “Burkitt’s Lymphoma is a rare lymphoma that is extremely aggressive (fast-growing).
“The jaw, central nervous system, gut, kidneys, ovaries, and other organs may be affected by this condition. Burkitt lymphoma can spread to the brain and spinal cord.” Dance Moms dominated the reality television industry in the early 2010s, with choreographer Abby as the show’s star.
From 2011 until 2019, the show aired on the Lifetime channel for eight seasons, with Abby at the helm until 2016.
For bankrupcy fraud, she was sentenced to a year in prison in 2017.
Abby has become an Instagram celebrity in recent months, posting videos and photos of herself completing rehab exercises from her wheelchair.
She continues to work as a choreographer as well.
Abby said in a 2021 interview that she is learning to walk again after undergoing an elective procedure to relieve her discomfort and regain her mobility.
‘I want to have more independence,’ she told the Daily Mail. I want to enjoy my life to the fullest. I want to be able to shower whenever I want, whenever I feel like it. That’s a great objective.
“Oh, she’s doing fantastic,” people say when they see me sitting in the chair with make-up and hair.
“They have no idea what happens behind closed doors. It’s a difficult situation. ‘It’s a nightmare.’
