Brandy keeps her love life out of the focus of publicity.
In addition to her fake marriage and two marriages, the singer of “I Wanna Be Down” has only made one relationship public in her life: Wanya Morris.
The two dated before splitting up for two years, and many believed that it was because Brandy was younger. On social media, Morris recently discussed the rumors.
A recap of the friendship between Brandy and Wanya Morris.
In the early 90s, Brandy became a big fan of Boyz II Men, especially Morris. Per Madame Noire, Morris explained on a recent Instagram Live, their first meeting. He says the mother and manager of Brandy, Sonja Norwood, had arranged for the two to meet.
Morris says Brandy has been a protégé of his. He also introduced her to Vida Spears and Ralph Farqhar, who played Thea and Moesha in the sitcoms. Morris claims he composed the theme song to one of the series.
On the subject, Brandy was once with Wanya Morris of Boyz II Men and another R&B artist in a love triangle.
Brandy toured with Boyz II Men and she and Morris performed a duet together, a remix to their single “Brokenhearted.” She revealed that she admitted her love for Morris during her VH1 Behind The Music special in 2012, but was unable to do so because of the six-year age gap and fear of the reaction of her mother.
I’m just in love with him, but there’s no way I can tell him.
I’m too young to tell him. I can’t even tell my mother because she will have a heart attack as a mother and a boss. What am I going to do?’ she said. “One day I got the courage to tell Wanya how I felt. I just told him I loved him and thanked him for making me feel the way I felt because I had never felt that way before. He was just like, ‘Wow.’ The relationship took a turn and we became a couple. I was on a high. It was love. It was real love.”
He and Brandy didn’t start dating until she was old, Wanya Morris says.
For years, many speculated that when Brandy was still underage, the former couple began dating, particularly because they met when Brandy was a teenager and collaborated with them for their 1996 duet. During his live Instagram, Morris put the speculation to rest.
“We hung out so often when she came of age that there was some sort of connection.
An intimate relationship. In fact, we fell in love with each other,’ he said. “All right, we were young.
That’s just the way it is. You are young and you fell in love with each other.
Especially when you have a lot of chances to be with someone. You start to know more about them.
And they know about you, stuff.

Brandy also confirmed that, when she turned 18, she and Morris didn’t start dating. During her Behind the Music special she said this. She claims, too, that Morris was her first true love and her first true heartbreak.
Morris claims they both got over each other, even though he admits he had previously fallen in love with her. Singer Adina Howard later reported that a relationship began between her and Morris, leading to Morris breaking up with Brandy.
Brandy confirmed this in the VH1 episode, saying, “He fell in love with someone else, and that’s sh***ty.”
Morris later married and had children, as did Brandy. She is currently single and says she is focusing on her music and motherhood.
