While Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lil Nas X were among the main winners at the prestigious award show, rapper Travis Scott raised the hip-hop flag by winning Best Hip-Hop on Sunday, September 12.
The prize went to the ‘Sicko Mode’ singer for his track ‘Franchise,’ which featured Young Thug and M.I.A. For the same song, the 30-year-old rapper was also nominated for Best Direction. Travis had to fight against industry heavyweights like Polo G, Moneybagg Yo, Cardi B, and rap legend Drake to win the Moon Person award. The Texas native thanked his three-year-old daughter Stormi for accepting his speech, but he did not mention Kylie Jenner, with whom he is expecting his second child. This sparked a meme frenzy, with social media users mocking Travis for ignoring Kylie and not communicating about his second child.
