Trailer for ‘Home Sweet Home Alone’: Fans criticize the reboot, calling it ‘unnecessary.’
In the reboot, Archie Yates replaces Macauley Culkin as cheeky Max Mercer, who played Kevin McCallister in the original film.
Disney has released the trailer for the next ‘Home Alone’ film, which has elicited a wide range of opinions from fans. While some fans lamented the loss of Macaulay Culkin in the remake of the original, others argued that a reboot was unnecessary. ‘Home Sweet Home Alone’ will launch exclusively on Disney’s streaming service on November 12, 2021.
Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, Aisling Bea, Kenan Thompson, Tim Simons, Pete Holmes, Ally Maki, and Chris Parnell feature in the remake. Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell of Saturday Night Live wrote it.
After the Capital riots, ‘Home Alone’ fans demand that Trump’s cameo be deleted from the film: ‘He won’t be missed at all,’ said one fan of ‘Home Alone’ star Macaulay Culkin’s birthday tweet, which reminded his fans that he’s now 40. Archie Yates (‘JoJo Rabbit’ fame) takes over as cheeky Max Mercer from Macauley Culkin, who played Kevin McCallister in the original film. Mercer is a ten-year-old resourceful child who has been left behind to defend a family house from a married couple (Kemper and Delaney) who are seeking to recover a valuable relic. One member of the McAllister family appears in the reboot, much to the delight of fans. Devin Ratray is a grown-up Buzz dressed as a cop.
‘I’ll only see the new house alone if Macaulay Culkin is cast as one of the baddies.’
Some fans were dismayed that Macaulay Culkin was not included in the revival. “Whoever opted to produce another Home Alone and not cast Macaulay Culkin as a hardened criminal whose only respite from his terrible flashbacks involves repeating his past trauma through violent home invasions, deserves to be fired,” one fan tweeted. “I’ll only watch the new home alone if Macaulay Culkin is one of the villains,” another remarked. According to one tweet, “I just saw the trailers for the reboot of Home Alone and the sequel to Scream. I can’t help but think Sidney Prescott would be terrific if she hooked up with Kevin McAllister.” Whoever opted not to cast Macaulay Culkin as grown-up Kevin McCallister the burglar, a hardened criminal whose only escape from nightmare memories is replicating his earlier trauma through violent house invasions, should be fired— October 12, 2021, Aelfred The Great (@aelfred D) DYYNAPSE(7/7) (@cyynapse) October 12, 2021hr.
