Lingard has already walked out the door at Old Trafford after talks over a new contract fell down.
He’s been linked with a return to West Ham United, where he spent the second part of last season on loan, but Spurs have emerged as one of five clubs interested in signing Lingard.
According to reports, new Tottenham manager Antonio Conte will have a lot of money to work with in January and might make Lingard his first acquisition.
Newcastle United and Everton are said to be interested in signing the winger, while Barcelona and AC Milan have also expressed an interest.
With Lingard’s contract expiring in the summer, the Red Devils are more inclined to cash in on him in January rather than risk letting him walk for free in June.
United, who have a squad bulging with offensive options, are expected to accept a deal of £10 million.
Lingard’s first-team opportunities at Old Trafford have been severely curtailed since the additions of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.
