Tom Fletcher and Amy Dowden have announced their departure from the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing?

After testing positive for Covid-19 last week, STRICTLY fans may have to say goodbye to Tom Fletcher and Amy Dowden for good.

The day after taking part in Strictly Come Dancing’s first live event, Tom Fletcher and Amy Dowden were confirmed to have tested positive for Covid. The couple is due to return on Saturday, according to the BBC, but it appears that they may end up quitting the show completely after the odds of them leaving were reduced.

The McFly star and Strictly pro dancer was unable to attend Saturday’s second live event due to scheduling conflicts.

If they both test negative for Covid this weekend, they will be able to resume training and dancing.

However, because the couple is expected to be released from seclusion on Tuesday, they only have three days to prepare together before their next performance.

The odds of the couple leaving the program, according to Ladbrokes, are only 2/1.

“It would be mightyily unfair on the other celebrities if Tom and Amy were handed a bye for two weeks, meaning their odds of departing have been lowered considerably,” Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes remarked.

This publication has reached out to a Strictly representative for comment.

An insider shared something ahead of the second live event. The couple’s management were concerned that they would be forced to skip a second week of Strictly.

“Amy and Tom need to be isolated until at least Tuesday,” a source added, “and then they’ll have to go through another Covid test to make sure they’re fit and well enough to train.”

“This means they won’t be able to resume full rehearsals until Wednesday, putting them in a race against the clock to memorize their routine.”

“Amy is using video to share ideas, steps, and motions with Tom,” the source stated.

“They’re both adamant that as soon as they’re able to resume training, they’ll be able to hit the ground running.

“Tom has been watching them all the time, taking it all in and conversing with Amy.”

“Another reason Amy has been giving Tom lots of homework to do from his sickbed is a shortage of time.”

Couples on Strictly can miss one live show if they catch Covid, but if they miss two, they may lose their spot.

The star of McFly said that he “desperately” hoped he could take. “Brinkwire News Summary.”
