Today’s Fortnite downtime: How long will the 17.20 upgrade keep the servers down?

NEW Fortnite downtime is on the way today, and Epic Games has warned that it will hit sooner than expected.

After a longer than usual wait for the next major Season 7 patch, Fortnite update 17.20 is now available.

When everything goes live on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mobile, and Nintendo Switch, Epic Games has cautioned that there will be new features and content to enjoy.

One of the highlights is a new default option for gamers who have trouble keeping track of their inventories.

While it may not be as critical as being skilled in a gunfight, being able to keep track of everything you have in your possession is still necessary if you want to be the last man standing.

With the release of Fortnite version 17.20, things will be a little easier, with Epic Games stating that Preferred Item Slots will be included in the upcoming patch.

“Looting in the midst of battle?” says Epic Games in a message. Don’t worry; Preferred Item Slots are on their way.

“By using this feature, you can sort your pick-ups into the inventory slot you specify, giving you more control over what goes where.

“In our next game update, this new option will be turned on by default for everyone.”

After today’s scheduled server maintenance, Fortnite version 17.20 will be available and playable, as previously stated.

This morning, the whole gaming experience will be unavailable for at least an hour, and it will happen sooner than normal.

Today’s Fortnite server outage has been rescheduled for 7:30 a.m. EST on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.

This means that maintenance will begin at 2:30 a.m. EDT on the same day for players in the United States.

No one should be left waiting for the servers to come back online because all platforms will be available at the same time.

Epic Games has yet to confirm the length of the Fortnite outage or provide an estimate.

However, based on prior patches, we anticipate services being restored by 10 a.m. BST on July 20.

“Set out to become a Champion with the upcoming Bugha’s Late Game mode,” states the latest news from Epic Games.

“Fortnite v17.20 will be out on July 20. Starting around 02:30 AM ET, services will be disabled in preparation for the upgrade (06:30 UTC). Please keep in mind that this is a different time than the “Brinkwire Summary News.”
