Tipping Point viewers are enraged by a “easy” question, while a lucky candidate receives a double counter.

Tipping Point fans have been left fuming as host Ben Shepherd asked an ‘easy’ TV question in the first round, which left one contestant winning the double counter

Tipping Point fans have been left raging as host Ben Shepherd asked an ‘easy’ question in the first round of the latest edition of the ITV game show.

Due to one of the contestants getting a question wrong, one ‘penalty pot’ question was asked at the end of the first round.

However, the simple nature has left viewers watching Thursday’s show fuming.

Ben asked the latest batch of hopefuls: “Before Channel 5 began broadcasting, how many national terrestrial television channels were there in the UK?”

HGV driver contestant Colin buzzed in before Ben could finish the question and answered correctly with the answer ‘four’.

However, viewers at home quickly noticed that the answer could have been easily worked out due to Channel 5 being in the question.

Angry fans have taken to their keyboards to discuss the ‘easy’ question on social media.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Errr 5 minus 1 equals 4 #TippingPoint” as another added: “What number comes before 5. A new low for #TippingPoint”

A third fan commented: “Hahaha how many channels were there before channel 5, f****** hell #TippingPoint.”

Another tweeted: “I mean, you are jerkin #TippingPoint” and another said: “Half-brained, you are! #TippingPoint”

Colin got the question correct and also managed to get the double counter so won £900 just on that single question.

This meant that contestant Alex was eliminated after the first round due to having the least amount of money out of all the players.

But it seems that fans weren’t too keen on Northerner Alex from the start as he left just ten minutes into the programme.

One fan tweeted: “People like Alex don’t help any of us Northerners #TippingPoint” and another said: “Alex …. A decidedly average ten minutes #TippingPoint.”

However, Colin played a good game as he was crowned victorious at the end of the programme.

He also managed to win the £10,000 jackpot which he said he would used to treat his children and grandchildren. As well as treating his wife which he called ‘pretty special’.

Tipping Point fans were happy to see Colin take the win as one said: “Colin seems a lovely bloke #TippingPoint.”

Another tweeted: “I’m glad he won, he was good fun #TippingPoint.”

Tipping Point airs weekdays on ITV at 4pm
