The brand new ABBA Arena, a state-of-the-art 3,000-capacity arena located at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, East London, will host ABBA Voyage on May 27, 2022.

Benny and Bjorn announced the live-stream earlier today, revealing that the event will comprise 22 songs and last 90 minutes.

On Tuesday, September 7, tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. You can, however, pre-register for tickets right now. Pre-registration links can be found further down the page.

The four band members and an 850-strong team from Industrial Light & Magic used motion capture and performance techniques to construct the digital representations of ABBA.

The company, which was created by George Lucas, is known for providing special effects for a number of Star Wars and Marvel films. This is the firm’s first excursion into the music industry.

“We did motion capture in a studio that looks like NASA,” Bjorn explained. We were in leotards with dots on our bodies for five weeks and suddenly the four of us were on stage performing these songs… We looked silly, but we’ve put a lot of effort into these avatars.”

“The only major issue was that we had to shave our beards,” Benny explained. 40 years later!” He further stated, “Frida and Agnetha didn’t shave…”

The event will primarily consist of the band’s “biggest hits, plus a couple songs that were not hits but that we adore,” according to Bjorn.

‘I Still Have Faith In You’ and ‘Don’t Shut Me Down,’ two new songs published today, will also be featured. Bjorn added that the rest of the new album’s tunes were recorded after the digital versions were finished, so they couldn’t be played during the show.
