‘They were never challenged by Oprah,’ according to GB News. Nana Akua defends Piers Morgan in the wake of Meghan Markle’s remarks.
Nana Akua of GB NEWS chimed in on the issue around the Ofcom verdict on Piers Morgan, which deemed him to be within his rights during the infamous Meghan Markle row in March, which saw Good Morning Britain get over 57,000 complaints.
The verdict was characterized as “great” by GB News’ Nana Akua, who went on to declare that Piers Morgan has the right to “have an opinion.” Presenting The Great British Breakfast alongside Tom Harwood, the former BBC journalist argued that during the bombshell interview that sparked the Good Morning Britain debate and ultimately led to Piers Morgan’s departure from the ITV show, Oprah Winfrey did not challenge any of Meghan Markle’s claims.
“To tell you the truth, I’m really glad now,” the 50-year-old said. “It appears like the pendulum has changed slightly, and now people recognize that having an opinion is OK.
“You need some light and shade; we can’t just have an agreed-upon storyline that everyone follows, and if you deviate from it, you’ll be cancelled, called a name, or anything similar.
“We have to be able to state what we think honestly, and that interview presented no difficulties.
“Oprah did not confront anything Meghan Markle claimed, and they have proven that at least 17 of her claims are slightly false or skewed from the truth.”
