‘The Voice’ Season 21 Episode 7 Recap: Ariana Grande Tears Up During Battle Rounds Premiere
The Battle Rounds have begun for The Voice Season 21’s contestants. Coaches Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, John Legend, and Blake Shelton select two of their team members to perform a song together in the next round of the singing competition.
The candidates must come to the stage ready to impress after countless rehearsals with their coaches and celebrity Battle Advisors, because the coaches can only choose one contestant from each battle to proceed. The Battle Rounds premiere of The Voice Season 21 Episode 7 has already included some difficult coach selections.
The bouts were launched off by Team ArianaNewcomer coach Ariana, who pitted Katie Rae against Bella DeNapoli.
These two singers are “opposite,” according to Ariana, yet they both have “huge diva” vocals. Ariana and her Battle Adviser, Kristin Chenoweth, both cried during their performance of Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer’s “No More Tears (Enough Is Enough).”
Quite a bit.
The coaches praised Katie’s edge and Bella’s high notes, but Ariana picked Katie after a passionate statement about her love for both singers.
Fans of Bella won’t have to fret because Ariana utilized her only save for her “Italian sister” as well.
Ariana teamed two of her rockers, David Vogel and Chavon Rodgers, for her second battle.
The musicians embraced their inner pop-punk with Fall Out Boy’s “Sugar, We’re Going Down,” which fit them both well.
Chavon’s smooth, low voice and vibrato were praised by the coaches, in addition to his interesting name. David, on the other hand, was a little clearer with his cool hair.
Ariana chose David while fighting back tears. Of course, she promised to follow David and Chavon to all of their future performances.

For his first match, John teamed KJ Jennings and Samuel Harness.
In front of Battle Adviser Camila, the two had to sing Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” John, on the other hand, was confident in their ability to impress. Both Samuel and KJ had things to work on in rehearsals, but on stage, they wowed the coaches. Kelly praised KJ’s rock edge, Ariana praised her “perfect runs,” and John referred to her as “dynamic.” Blake, on the other hand, admired Samuel’s “cold, smokey sound.” Samuel may have withdrawn into his shell during preparation, but he showed no signs of timidity on stage….
