The producers of Strictly Come Dancing have ‘cast Ugo Monye as the first contestant’ for the 2021 season.
According to the latest rumours, rugby player Ugo Monye could be the first candidate for STRICTLY COME DANCING in 2021, as the official line-up approaches.
Ugo, 38, is most known for being a key component of England’s rugby team, although he has since retired from the sport to work as a pundit. His name has been thrown into the ring as a potential participant battling for the Glitterball Trophy this autumn, with this year’s season of Strictly Come Dancing just around the corner. With the casting announcements for this year’s show starting any day now, reports claim he could be the first celebrity to appear on the BBC show.
Another reason why executives want him on board, according to a source, is his connection to last year’s competitor and Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing, 32.
“Ugo can’t wait to get out on the dance floor and show off his moves,” the insider claimed. He isn’t recognized for his dance abilities, but he isn’t scared to take on a challenge.
“At the BBC, Ugo is very much a rising star. He’s a captain on the relaunched Question Of Sport, and a stint on Strictly will only help to raise his profile.
“Strictly bosses think he’s a fantastic signing, and who knows, maybe he’ll be just as excellent at the waltz as he was on the wing,” they told The Sun.
A representative of the Saturday night entertainment program has been approached by this website for comment on the reports.
Ugo would not be the first rugby player to compete in the event, as a slew of legends have done so in the past.
Kenny Logan, 49, Matt Dawson, 48, and Ben Cohen, 42, have all competed for the Glitterball Trophy, but none of them have come out on top.
Following the alterations made last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, a number of additional big names have already been linked to this year’s season, which will resume normal operations.
After turning down the chance to show off his dancing skills last season, television presenter Ben Fogle, 47, could be joining.
Ugo is ecstatic.
“My two, Ludo and Iona, have been quite supportive although they.”Brinkwire Summary News”. Ben explained why he didn’t pursue the venture.
