Kayce Dutton, star of Yellowstone, reveals hidden meaning in Lee vision ‘Not there to spook!’

Luke Grimes, who has played Kayce Dutton on YELLOWSTONE for all four seasons, has spoken out about his character’s shocking reunion with his deceased brother Lee in the fourth series finale.

From the death of Garrett Randall (Will Patton) to the wedding of Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), the fourth season finale of Yellowstone had a number of shocking twists and turns.

One of the most intriguing plot points that Paramount viewers were eager to see resolved was Kayce Dutton’s (Luke Grimes) participation in a Native American ritual as he desperately sought answers.

The toll of the ritual began to catch up with Kayce in the season four finale, and he was put through the wringer.

The ritual was to help Kayce delve deep into his subconscious and conjure up visions that would give him a purpose in life – as well as provide some context to the mysterious wolf stalking him.

Kayce was confronted with a number of pivotal figures from his past near the end of his time in the ritual, including a seductive Avery (Tanaya Beatty) and a flashback to his time in Afghanistan.

The most shocking vision, however, was the reappearance of Kayce’s brother Lee (Dave Annable), who died in Kayce’s arms in the first episode of the Paramount drama.

As night fell, Lee appeared to Kayce in his vision and gave him some ominous warnings.

“He [Mo (Mo Brings Plenty)] said pray for a vision but I don’t see you praying,” Lee said.

“Let me in, you f****g child, look at me!” the deceased Dutton yelled angrily at his hallucinating brother when Kayce refused to let Lee into his circle.

As the ritual’s toll took a dark turn, Kayce was left screaming in agony, and Lee was gone before the fans knew it.

Kayce returned home to Monica (Kelsey Asbille) and son Tate (Brecken Merrill) by the end of the fourth season finale, but he left a haunting warning that he and his wife might not.
