The ‘embarrassing’ Marvel star slams it. ‘It looks like rubbish,’ says Black Widow.
MARVEL: Black Widow is set to hit theaters tomorrow, but one former Marvel star has spoken out about how “crap” the new film, starring Scarlett Johansson, looks.
The universe of comic book movies was made up of distinct entries before the Marvel Cinematic Universe was fully formed. Some Marvel characters, such as Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man, have film franchises established by Sony and Fox. The popular Blade series, starring Wesley Snipes as the title character, was included in the collection. Stephen Dorff, who recently lambasted the next Black Widow film, played the antagonist in the first film in the franchise.
Black Widow is Johansson’s renowned Avengers character’s first solo film. The film follows the character’s death in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
While MCU fans are excited to see the heroine go on her own journey for the first time, Dorff did not mince words when discussing the film.
“I still hunt out the nice s**t because I don’t want to be in Black Widow,” Dorff remarked of taking on cinematic projects.
“It seems like junk to me,” the 47-year-old added. (Image courtesy of The Independent)
Dorff’s comments, however, did not end there.
“It looks like a lousy video game,” he continued. I feel sorry for those people. For Scarlett’s sake, I’m mortified!
“I’m sure she was paid five or seven million dollars, but I feel bad for her.
“I’m not interested in appearing in those films. I honestly don’t.”
Dorff then appeared to take a swipe at Cate Shortland, the director of Black Widow.
“I’ll find that child director who’s going to be the next Kubrick and act for him instead,” he remarked.
Shortland has directed films including Berlin Syndrome, Lore, and Somersault in the past.
The outspoken actor was most recently seen in the MMA film Embattled, which was released in 2020.
Although Dorff’s film received positive reviews, it only grossed $32,200 at the box office.
Black Widow will be released in theaters on Wednesday, and it has earned positive reviews thus far.
Johansson’s “memorable stunts” and outstanding acting were commended in our Daily Express review.
However, the latest MCU film was criticized for having a “messy plot,” with the film receiving three out of five stars.
Johansson has defended her character’s death in recent weeks.
“It’s odd because I’ve got varied emotions to her eventual destiny in Endgame,” she explained. But it worked for me.”Brinkwire Summary News”.
