The show is based on Baku Yumemakura’s novel and Jirô Taniguchi’s critically acclaimed manga.

One of the most eagerly awaited Netflix original series is ‘The Summit of the Gods.’

The series, based on Jirô Taniguchi’s critically renowned manga and Baku Yumemakura’s novel, explores whether George Mallory and his companion Andrew Irvine were the first to conquer Mount Everest’s hazardous terrain.

The film has garnered such a great response that it has immediately become a social media sensation since its Netflix premiere.

What does the series’ plot entail?

“On June 8, 1924, were George Mallory and his companion Andrew Irvine the first men to summit Everest? Only their small Vestpocket Kodak camera, which they had brought with them, might disclose the truth “according to Netflix’s official synopsis.

In Kathmandu, 70 years later, a young Japanese reporter named Fukamachi Makoto recognizes the camera in the hands of the mysterious Habu Joji, an outcast climber who has been gone for years.

Fukamachi enters a world of obsessive mountaineers yearning for unattainable victories on a voyage that brings him step by step to the summit of the gods.

Who will be a part of the cast?

Rich Ting (‘Warrior,’ Darren Barnet (‘Never Have I Ever,’ and Keiko Agena (‘Better Call Saul,’ respectively) provides the voices for the characters.

Ray Yamamoto, Clyde Kusatsu, Chris Naoki Lee, and Paul Nakauchi are the remaining cast members.
