Of course, it’s to snuggle up with a warm blanket and watch a romantic comedy! Hallmark is known and loved for its Fall Harvest lineup, which has some of the most heartwarming films you’ll ever see. This is not the case with ‘Taking the Reins.’

‘Taking the Reins’ tells the narrative of Samantha Barclay, a New York-based writer on the hunt for her next piece. Samantha begins on a voyage of self-discovery after being told that she writes well but that her words are not from the heart. When she bumps across her ex-husband Luke, the story takes a turn for the better. Samantha walks a new but familiar path with old friends, family, and love by her side, and the film promises to be lovely and touching.

‘Taking the Reins’ is a film about self-discovery, and you’ll be rooting for the joyful conclusion you know is coming. Her article leads her back to her hometown, where she runs across her ex-husband! What a case of bad timing! Awkwardness is in the air, and things are about to get sticky, to say the least. The film has a similar idea, but with so many rom-coms out there, it’s difficult to fault the creators.
